Information on MRSA
There IS an
answer!
(It
may sound presumptuous, but we really DO
have
a system that is extremely effective!)
MRSA
is a serious disease! If you are
looking for information on MRSA, you will also probably be interested in how to
resist it or even heal it. The
problem on the web is sorting through the hype and sales-only sites. However, when people visit our main
sites:
inspirednutrition.com, and the sister site,
puttingthepiecestogether.com, (having a little more spiritual content),
People have found that we have a passion for the pursuit of facts
and truth! Because we
believe physical health to be a very important part of our lives, we have been
researching and recommending nutritional supplements to people for almost
40 years. This is
important because the character and ethics of anyone you get
information on MRSA on the web is essential.
If
you are having difficulties dealing with MRSA, we have some suggestions at the
end of this article. First, some
excerpts of general information on MRSA taken from The
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
What is Staphylococcus aureus
(staph)?
Staphylococcus aureus, often referred to simply as "staph," are bacteria
commonly carried on the skin or in the nose of healthy people. Approximately 25%
to 30% of the population is colonized (when bacteria are present, but not
causing an infection) in the nose with staph bacteria. Sometimes, staph can
cause an infection. Most of these skin infections are minor however, staph
bacteria also can cause serious infections.
What is MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus
aureus)?
MRSA
is a type of staph that is resistant to antibiotics including methicillin and
other more common antibiotics such as oxacillin, penicillin and amoxicillin.
While 25% to 30% of the population is colonized with staph, approximately 1% is
colonized with MRSA.
Who gets staph or MRSA infections?
Staph
infections, including MRSA, occur most frequently among persons in hospitals and
healthcare facilities (such as nursing homes and dialysis centers) who have
weakened immune systems. MRSA is
transmitted most frequently by direct skin-to-skin contact. You can protect
yourself from infections by practicing good hygiene (e.g., keeping your hands
clean by washing with soap and water or using an alcohol-based hand rub and
showering after working out); covering any open skin area such as abrasions or
cuts with a clean dry bandage; avoiding sharing personal items such as towels or
razors; using a barrier (e.g., clothing or a towel) between your skin and shared
equipment; and wiping surfaces of equipment before and after
use.
What is community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA)?
Staph
and MRSA can also cause illness in persons outside of hospitals and healthcare
facilities. MRSA infections that are acquired by persons who have not been
recently hospitalized or had a medical procedure. They are know as CA-MRSA
infections. Staph or MRSA infections in the community are usually manifested as
skin infections, such as pimples and boils, and occur in otherwise healthy
people. Factors that have been associated with the spread of MRSA skin
infections include: close skin-to-skin contact, openings in the skin such as
cuts or abrasions, contaminated items and surfaces, crowded living conditions,
and poor hygiene.
How common are staph and MRSA infections?
Staph
bacteria are one of the most common causes of skin infection in the United
States and are a common cause of pneumonia, surgical wound infections, and
bloodstream infections. The majority of MRSA infections occur among patients in
hospitals or other healthcare settings; however, it is becoming more common in
the community setting.
What does a staph or MRSA infection look like?
Staph
bacteria, including MRSA, can cause skin infections that may look
like a pimple or boil and can be red, swollen, painful, or have
pus or other drainage. More serious infections may cause pneumonia,
bloodstream infections, or surgical wound infections. Factors that
have been associated with the spread of MRSA skin infections include:
close skin-to-skin contact, openings in the skin such as cuts or
abrasions, contaminated items and surfaces, crowded living conditions,
and poor hygiene. People with weakened immune systems, which include
some patients with HIV infection, may be at risk for more severe
illness if they get infected with MRSA.
Many
staph skin infections may be treated by draining the abscess or
boil and may not require antibiotics. Drainage of skin boils or
abscesses should only be done by a healthcare provider.
If
after visiting your healthcare provider the infection is not getting
better after a few days, contact them again. If other people you
know or live with get the same infection tell them to go to their
healthcare provider.
Most
current information on MRSA indicates that it has become more resistant to
antibiotics lately. MRSA has
concerned us tremendously as our readers were requesting help in that area –
sometimes urgent help! Since
the 1930's, researchers around the world have been documenting the powerful
anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral effects of
therapeutic grade essential oils! (Essential oils are plant bacterial
defense systems distilled or pressed from stems, leaves, fruits and
flowers. They produce them to
protect themselves from the same bacteria.)
However, we were not able to find any source that provided a complete
package in combating MRSA. We have
much more information on MRSA on our main site, but the important thing is that
we have been able to put together, by far, the best natural system to defeat
MRSA available!
We combine the effective bacterial killing power
of 15 essential oils into one
formula!
Other
MRSA treatments would only combine 1-4 items (at the last search) for topical
application. This is partially
effectively - but we wanted a better product! MRSA cures must also be a complete
system! MRSA can attack the
inside of a body as well as the outside. As a result, we had to design a complete
system that no one else offered.
A Complete MRSA Treatment
System
To
combat MRSA and help the body completely free itself from the MRSA bacteria, we
recommend:
- Taking a very good multivitamin and mineral
supplement to help give your body what it needs to stay healthy. If you don’t have a good one, we offer
the Ultimate Foundation. That we described earlier.
- We recommend taking a particular monolaurin
supplement, called Lauricidin,
that multiple studies have proven to be extremely efficient at
internally killing all bacteria, including MRSA, (and many
viruses). This is very important to
have the very best results.
- This is, of course our Ultimate Antibacterial Lotion for surface
healing.
